Martorano and 660 Expand, Chowhound Splits, Nobu Goes on the Road
Steve Martorano, of the famous Café Martorano on Oakland Park Boulevard, brings his brash Italian fare to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this February with the opening of Martorano's -- a 7,400-square-foot restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating for approximately 300. Look for Steve's famous meatballs, eggplant stack, and shrimp scampi, as well as high-def screens and loud music. A Philly cheese steak sandwich is on the after-hours menu.
Which means Miami/Fort Lauderdale finally gets its own Chowhound board. About goddamn time (no offense to those looking for the best meat loaf in Daytona Beach). The new regional splits take place beginning this Thursday, January 28. Click here for a look at the new board configurations.
Nobu on the Road
Nobu Weekend will take place at 1 Bal Harbour during Super Bowl weekend, February 4 through the 7. The limited menu will consist of Rock shrimp tempura, Nobu's signature black cod with miso, yellowtail jalapeño, tiradito, sashimi salad, toro tartare, and squid pasta. A $55 prix fixe lunch menu will be available from noon to 4 p.m.; a $120 dinner menu will run from 6 to 11:30. Bento boxes and Nobu cocktails will be offered poolside.

660 at the Angler Expands
660 Mediterranean Kitchen at the Angler has a new outdoor patio shaded by oversize umbrellas and surrounded by enhanced landscaping. The bar and lounge area have also been expanded, and chef Giorgio Rapicavoli celebrates his first year at the restaurant with a revamped menu. Look for plates such as olive oil-poached piquillo peppers with goat cheese; crispy braised pork belly; and 12-hour braised short ribs with porcini/truffle risotto. There's also a new beer list and cocktail menu, with elixirs such as the Amalfi Coast basil limoncello martini.
