How many tomatoes does it take to fill a giant stainless-steel salsa bowl?

Find out Super Bowl Sunday when the Miami Gardens Pollo Tropical (19500 NW 27th Ave.) across the street from Sun Life Stadium hosts a free family tailgate party and Guinness World Records event.

In addition to free Pollo Tropical samplings, a bounce house, games and prizes, a $1,000 salsa dancing competition, a giveaway of free Pollo Tropical for a year, and a meal donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade for each participant who shows up, there will also be an attempt to break the world record for largest bowl of salsa.

A nine-foot-wide-by-five-foot-deep bowl will be filled with chopped tomatoes, onions, garlic, and spices to the tune of at least 600 pounds.

Now that's a hot ticket.
