Lulu, Sidewalk Cafe Coming to Coconut Grove

• I went to lulu for dinner and a lot of the dishes reminded me of another restaurant...Then i realized everything was a copy of another restaurant even the plates are the same..lol who does that? How can you think you can get away with stealing someone else's idea..The prices are outrageous!!!! The drinks are served in a thick tiny cup...The worst thing is the cocktail bar nuts that was served ,they were so stale it lead me to believe they were recycling them ! that is a health hazard! Anyway that is just the beginning..we ordered some tapas the serving is ridiculous we had to order two more app. dishes...Then i had the churasco the quality of the meat was soo bad i can say i've had a better churasco @ la careta !My wife had the salmon an oh boy...no sides ! On a 15 dollar piece of salmon! Our waiter was great and friendly so was the rest of the staff but it seemed like our waiter was always pulled aside by the manager she clearly was stopping him from doing he's job..Not only that but she walked in circle around the restaurant making a face like someone died i would expect a restaurant manager to look friendly and smile but not her,then she came to our table and told us "hey guys was anything wrong with the service? if so i can comp off some of your meal?!?! never in my life have i heard a manager say that to me!?!? We told her our server was great then she replied ok and started to walk away so we called her back and let her know what we thought of the dishes she simply told us to right it down on a survey! Wow where did the owner find this manager? anyways we will never go back overthere..and encourage you not to go either!

• Great restaurant, very good service and great food, the owners are very nice people as well as the staff, all the small plates are great and the bar if very cool. I have been to sugarcane and yes there are some similar items on the menu, but those are not items created by sugar cane they have been around long before them so the recipes one as original as the other. i recommend try both and you will see the difference. jalape�ashed potatoes, truffle macaroni and cheese, fried green tomatoes, the Asian wings and sliders are some of my favorites.

• Hey Lolo and Lolo2 I totaly agree ... these are bad greedy and dishonest people ... with total lack or originality and ideas ... I have also worked for them and have been stiffed out of my pay ... thinking to sue ... maybe a class action suit will make them think twice before they screw with people!!!!

• Oh Gosh ! they opened ! so funny they keep the same style as the place before Red and Brown! same terrace! and the menu is almost exactly the same as Sugar Cane! so funny how people have no ideas ! how this guy is in the business since so whiiiileeee ? once again Mr.Bignon made a blurry copy of something else...! ridiculous...

• LOLO i agree.. i was supposed to be hired but a lot of changes went and i decided not to stay....but,,, its funny... they bought recipies from a restaurant on coral gables and im sure they will try to sell 'em....i will also do anything to boycott this place.... and i have the ways.. i also work lots of hours with them... not paid...as usual the strongest takes over the rest.. but.. to the ceasar what belongs to te ceasar... you will pay Mr. bignon...

• more info about LULU??? ok if you know SugarCane ... that's exactly what they plan to copy! More than that... they even sent their Chef at this place to hired and he has been! Anyway the owner of Lulu is also the one from Greenstreet,and very well known with his wife to copying other place and people. I also have been told that they even took the place over with very dirty manners... I'll boycott this place just because the original is the best(Sugarcane), because the Grove Sucks and specially for what Mr Bignon did to a lot of businesses in the Grove. Believe me they are very sneaky, bad and greedy people.

• the guy who agreed to carlos is obviously an idiot who doesn't know anything about the restaurant industry getting that billboard was smart the owner is not an idiot. i know the owner personally and he will have a great restaurant and im sure it will be as successful as the other one which has been open for over 20 years. obviously the billboard worked dumb ass because your here typing about it. if "" LULU a sidewalk cafe in the heard of coconut grove " isnt enough for you what would you like the menu on the billboard?

• hey,, of course its gonna be great!!!its my food... yeap.. im the chef whos creating lulu's menu... thanks to all of those who are thinking possitive.. to me its a good motivation to bring u the food that comes from my heart.. to those negative... you will be surprised... i bet...

"It piqued their interest." And it will continue doing so, until something comes out of it. It's called effective advertising. Don't Hate.

• Carlos, I couldn't agree with you more. Lulu, what kind of idiot would spend the money on a billboard if you didn't want people to talk about it. Maybe we should start a boycott campaign right now so that you go out of business quickly. Apparently it's not news and your dumb ass jumped the gun by promoting something that will probably not happen. Just like the stupid farmers market in Hollywood. Are you having trouble getting permits? Ran out of money already to open it up? Next time think before you comment on a post when you have an ENORMOUS SIGN already constructed.
