Best Veggie Chili Ever?
Not sure, but the Magic Veggie Chili made by Christopher Hughes is the best I've yet tasted. It's also the only chili I've ever had that has its own blog. Amazing what a person can do with textured vegetable protein and imagination.  

The Amazing and Incredible 4 1/2 Month Restaurant Opening
"Luna Corner Pizza is currently offering a grand opening special, two slices of pepperoni pizza and a 20-ounce soda for $5.99."

Not to pee on anybody's opening day parade, but Luna Corner Pizza debuted November 16.

Vegas: Where Restaurant Chains Come To Die
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a new hotel/casino opening late 2010, has announced plans for STK Steakhouse and Solea to be its restaurant tenants. If Miami is the city of sloppy seconds, Vegas is now officially the town of scraps-on-the-floor.

South Africa Comes To Acqualina
Tomorrow evening Saturday, April 3rd, from 6 pm to 10 pm, Aaria Bar & Lounge at Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach will be serving up an assortment of fine wines and cuisine from South Africa. Guests will enjoy canapes and a live cooking demonstration by Acqualina chef Marc Debas before being seated for a 3-course dinner that looks like this:
Bengal Shrimp
Avocado Oil Seared Prawns,
Spiced and Curried Tomato Broth

Braii (BBQ) Lamb Sosaties (Kebabs)
Grilled Marinated Lamb Kebabs in Spiced yogurt with Dried Apricots and Onions
Served with Steamed Rice and Mango Chutney
 
Koeksuster
Twisted Doughnuts Smothered in Ginger Syrup
Served with Caramelized Banana
 
Wine Dinners range from $85 and up, which includes complimentary valet parking. And hey buddy, watch who you're calling a koeksuster!
