Coral Gables Restaurant Week Begins Monday

​Yes, it's that time of year again. No, we don't mean the beginning of summer. Nor are we referring to the upcoming "Best of Miami" issue or, for that matter, the upcoming Flapjack Flip-Off X. (OK, we can move on now; I've gotten in all the necessary plugs.)

Yes, it's that time of year again, time for the third annual Coral Gables Restaurant Week (AKA "7-Years-Less-Than-the-Flapjack Flip-Off Coral Gables Restaurant Week"). Festivities begin June 7 and continue through the 20th. This is actually two weeks, not one, but hey, this isn't about arithmetic. During this time, 28 of the Gables' finest dining establishments (except Pascal's, Palme d'Or, Talavera, and a few others) will offer three-course menus at a minimum of 20 percent off regular prices.

This is a good opportunity to try some of those spots you might be curious about, such as the new Angelique Euro Café, or some old favorites, such as Ortanique or La Cofradia Ceviche Bar. And because Bacardi U.S.A. is sponsoring the event, diners 21 and older will be able to sample the "original Bacardi mojito cocktail" at any of the participating restaurants (or at least at those that serve alcohol).
