Sweet tats, chef.
You don't always see them in the front of the house, but chefs, line cooks, and others who work behind the scenes are the force that makes sure food translates well to the plate. But there is something else we noticed: Much like other creative types, chefs love tattoos. So in a national series, which has already been covered at our sister papers, such as Village Voice, SF Weekly, Houston Press, OC Weekly, and others, Miami New Times and New Times Broward-Palm Beach take a look at what's underneath the aprons of our local chefs.

Miami chefs we uncovered include Richard Hales (Sakaya Kitchen), Sandra Stefani (Casa Toscana), Guily Booth (Cafeina), Kyle Foster (Talula), and Alex Sauerteig and Eric Gonzalez (Smoke't).

You can check out the entire South Florida chef tattoo photo essay, by photographer C. Stiles, here.
