Exclusive: Talula Sold, Eden Coming Soon -- Updated

Chef Chris Lee will be creating farm-to-table dishes at Eden.

​Top Chef's Andrea Curto-Randazzo, along with hubby Frank Randazzo, has finally sold Talula. The long-suffering restaurant was put on the market a few months ago, despite Andrea's brief brush with fame on Top Chef.

Coming in its place is Eden, a new restaurant concept from a high-powered team out of Las Vegas. Headed by Kelley Jones, he also co-owns Todd English P.U.B. in Sin City, Eden is meant to reflect the Garden of Eden. That means the much underutilized courtyard at the back of the former Talula space will be transformed into a lush, leafy oasis.

The fare, under the tutelage of chef Chris Lee, will feature farm-to-table dishes, with an emphasis on seasonality. Lee has an impressive pedigree: In 2005, he was named Rising Star Chef of the Year at the James Beard Awards, and he was also anointed as one of the Best New Chefs of 2006 by Food & Wine magazine. Currently, he is working for Charlie Palmer in New York, before heading to Miami to helm Eden, which will debut in late October. Actually, we just found out that Lee will be overseeing the culinary direction of the menu and the restaurant, but staying at his main gig in New York. Lee will be in Miami from time to time, though. 

Short Order will have more news as Eden develops, but rest assured that this corner of 23rd Street (across from Philippe and Mr. Chow) will be a new gourmet destination in town.
