Scotty's Landing Bests Happy Hour Competition in Grove

Hours: Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. No happy hour.

Scene: Scotty's Landing on the waterfront in the Grove does not have a happy hour. Having said that, every hour Scotty's is open is a joyous occasion. And as for prices, well, the drink prices usually best the happy hour specials of most competitors. That's why we make an exception for this Grove mainstay.

Make no mistake. This is the old Grove--a holdover from the days of before Cocowalk. Don't look for drinks with fruit, don't ask for any sliders and please don't expect to see any flat screens. There's only a couple of TV's and their screens are only as wide as they are thick (we don't advise sitting under them either). It's beer and well drinks and none of the high end stuff either, it wouldn't' suit the place.

The view and dolphin sandwich are best in the city good.

​But don't mistake price for quality when it comes time to stuff your face with Scotty's renowned dolphin sandwich--it routinely wins for our Best Of Edition. There's live music, celebrity and politician sightings (Miami City Hall is literally next door) not to mention an ample bit of history (Jim Morrison showed his junk a hop, skip and jump away from Scotty's at the Dinner Key Auditorium in 1969).

Conclusion: The whole point of having a happy hour is providing a respite from the daily grind. And on that point, Scotty's scores 10s across the board. The beer is as cheap as it gets in the Grove and the food is better than good. But it's the setting and the view that truly distinguishes Scotty's.
