Chef Peter Vauthy is feeling crabby.
Alaskan King Crab season has begun, and Red, The Steakhouse, has got them. "At least once a day I get asked when we're bringing back Alaskan King Crab, so I'm happy to now be able to say 'it's here!'," says executive chef and partner Peter Vauthy. He also adds that Red will be the only South Beach steakhouse where you'll be able to order the entire six-foot long King Crab - which serves up to 10 people.

Alaskan King Crab, considered the porterhouse of shellfish, is prepared steamed with butter at market price - approximately $59 for a small platter (1/2 pound) and $119 for a large platter (three pounds). King Crab cocktail and bisque will also be on the menu; for the full King Crab, orders must be given three to four days notice prior to dining reservations. The season runs through January.
