Bistro e's $5 Sushi Rolls, Sake Cocktails Make For Happy Hour Bliss
While Tua prepared two rolls, our bartender made suggestions and spoke charismatically about the drinks, including the Eos raspberry cocktail, with four fresh raspberries, raspberry vodka, sake, and club soda, and Japanese lychee with lemonade and sake.
Any cocktail connoisseur should know that anytime the bartender has to go to the kitchen for ingredients, it means he's creating an extraordinary beverage.
The Eos cocktails, regularly priced at $14, are also discounted to $5. The Viceroy Old Fashioned includes Zacappa 23-year rum in place of bourbon whiskey -- and orange-flavored Angostura bitters substituting for traditional bitters. It is a refreshingly new twist on the antiquated cocktail.
I also sampled two rolls: salmon with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and sweet chili sauce -- and the spicy tuna with kaiware, yamagobo, albacore, and ponzu sauce. The sushi is rich and flavorful, and comes in generous-size rolls. Sushi is available at Bistro e beginning at 11 a.m., Monday to Friday.
Bistro e is located on the 15th floor of Viceroy Miami, sharing the same level as the stunning infinity pool. It's open seven days a week, serving breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $5 After 5 p.m. Sushi and Sake Happy Hour is offered from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Eos opens for dinner from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Valet parking is $5 with validation. Walk-ins welcomed.
