Ceviche Throwdown, Photo Recap for a Good Cause

And the winner is... CEVICHE 105! Chef Juan Chipoco takes the crown thanks to the judges.

Close to 300 tickets were sold to yesterday's Ceviche Throwdown.  Miamians, tweeples, foodies and judges alike came together to benefit the Friends of the Fishermen, a nonprofit associated with the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. Congratulations to Sugarcane Raw Bar & Grill, Miami International Wine Fair and the South Florida Foodies.



What better way to end a weekend than for a good cause

Chef Timon Balloo plays host to the Throwdown and talks sustainable seafood to a crowd. His corvina ceviche with pickled honshimenji mushrooms, squash and puffed rice won for most-unconventional ceviche.

Chef Eisman's bay scallop and watermelon version was a SO fave, wonderfully tart yet elegant at once. The texture of the scallops were a winner.
