Last night's Signature Chefs and Wine Extravaganza at Jungle Island to raise money for the March of Dimes is deserving of some commentary, so without further ado:

The award for the most unexpected dish goes to Michael Bloise from American Noodle Bar (ETA early November) for his yummy cheeseburger dumplings with curry mayo.

Kudos to Timon Balloo from Sugarcane for his local snapper crudo. It seems he's ready for this weekend's Ceviche Throwdown.

We wish Por Fin had stuck to tradition, however. Its "Spanish take" on sushi, made with roast pork and chicharrones, left us feeling like a fish out of water.
