If you love Spanish wines, jump on the wine train Wednesday, October 13 at the Great Match at the Biltmore Hotel from 1 to 5 p.m. for media and trade and 6 to 8:30 p.m. for the public. Tickets cost $45 per person and can be purchased here. Keep the wine train going at either Ideas Restaurant tasting the best wine Ribera de Duero has to offer, available to trade folks only, or go over to Escopazzo and do it italiano-style with Chef Giancarla Bodoni and enjoy her modern Italian interpretation of Old World classics. That Pacific Halibut and Bottarga Carpaccio of hers is bound to be a sure-fire hit with foodies!
Take a break on Thursday and let the food and wine digest, but get ready for the weekend because starting Friday, you can attend the Miami International Wine Fair. Seminars begin at 1 p.m. and include interesting lectures covering topics such as "Ribero del Duero, a Region on the Rise" (maybe the understatement of the year) and a "Tour 'des Vins' de France."
Or bust out of work early and join the grand tasting at 4 p.m., where more than 300 exhibitors will show their goods and get Miamians saucy. Douglas Rodriguez will be defending his title of Ceviche Jefe against Chefs Timon Balloo, Clay Conley, Jonathan Eisman, Andrea Curto Randazzo, and Kris Wessel. It's the Battle Royale of Ceviches! Who will be crowned Jefe this year?
