On November 1 at 7:30 p.m., The Palms Hotel & Spa and executive chef Frank Jeannetti will host the 1st Annual World Festival Miami. Thirteen local and celebrity chefs, including Michelle Bernstein, John Critchley, Samuel Gorenstein, Dean Max, Kris Wessel, Mark Zeitouni, and Frank Jeannetti will be hosting their own stations and designing cuisine inspired by various countries.

The event will raise funds for Common Threads, a non-profit organization headquartered in Chicago that was ;founded in 2003 by former personal chef of Oprah Art Smith. It's committed to educating mostly low income children on the importance of nutrition and physical well-being.

Jeanetti's 's much anticipated station will be inspired by South American cuisine and will also include a passion fruit panna cotta for dessert. The idea is that "guests will have the opportunity of going around the world," he says.

Essensia, the hotel's restaurant, will be the setting. The expected crowd of 250 will spill out onto the terrace, which offers gorgeous views of the botanical gardens. There will be live world music, entertainment, and a silent auction. Beer, wine, and champagne will be complimentary, as the products are donated. Jeanetti emphasized that "no one is making money on this event. We're eating the costs. 100% of the money raised is going to Common Threads. The more tickets sold means the more kids that will have the opportunity to be exposed to such a wonderful program."

Common Threads currently serves nearly 1000 children, ages eight to twelve. It offers 51 12-week cooking courses annually throughout Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and most recently Miami.

Tickets for the 1st Annual World Festival Miami are a steep $125 per person and may be purchased online at www.commonthreads.org& or by calling 786-238-0963. The public is also encouraged to visit the website and donate in lieu of attending.
