Open Season at Knaus Berry Farm in Pictures

​ Knaus Berry Farm bakery probably makes the best cinnamon rolls anywhere in the world. We can't guarantee it, but most people who've had them agree. "The recipe isn't neccessarily secret, but we don't share it," says Thomas Blocher, bakery manager. He has been in charge for the past 27 years or so, but his mother-in-law, Barbara Knaus, started the operation over 50 years ago. It all began when she handed a strawberry broker a few of her homemade cookies. He said, "Those are delicious...good enough to sell." So she and another lady set up a small baking station and the rest is history.

But in addition to fine baked goods including breads, cakes, pies, rolls and more, there are also milkshakes, jellies, honey, and farm fresh fruits and veggies. Knaus Berry Farms is open every year from November to April and touted as a landmark by the best chefs in South Florida, including Michael Schwartz. Here are some pictures from this morning.
