Earth 'N' Us is a permaculture farm that resides smack in the middle of Little Haiti. Ray Chasser's house and surrounding land is home to emus, roosters, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, and turkeys, in addition to containing a thriving fruit and vegetable garden. We almost forgot--there are also bees which he harvests for honey.

There are also 20 to 30 human beings who live at Earth 'N' Us -- including some who reside in tents and a treehouse on the property. (Heck, a New Times staffer even used to stay there.) Chasser welcomes all kinds of life into his home, saying the front door is always open and anyone is allowed inside. "Most people that hear about it and then come here say, 'Wow, you can't do it justice until you see it,'" he said.

People, animals, and plants all live together in this man-made urban jungle created by a man on a mission. Feel free to visit Ray and take a tour of the farm, and pick up some fresh honey and organic veggies while you're at it.

Ray, I'm writing this for my son whose comuter is down. He has wanted to come see you with his 11 goats. He's from Virginia. You talked to me when I came to visit and you suggested that he come down after you had made room after he contacted you. When is a good week to come? His name is Mason and he's like to talk to you. His phone number is 540-288-7241. His address is 18425 Woodland Drive in Triangle, VA. His truck is down now but after it gets fixed, he's free to go if things are cool.
