Rosa Mexicano Jumps Into South Beach Mex Fray

Rosa Mexicano will be opening on the ground floor of the the funky new 1111 Lincoln Road parking lot. That's an exclusive Short Order scoop -- which we scooped from Ryan at Miami's Restaurant Power Rankings, who scooped it from Chowhound, which got the scoop from a Craigslist job listing.

That was five minutes ago.

Just kidding -- the ad has been up a few days. But this does make the South Beach Mex Wars that I alluded to yesterday (spurred by news that a Baja Fresh was to debut shortly at Washington Avenue and 12th Street) that much more interesting. The Rosa location is just a few blocks north of Lime Fresh Mexican Grill.

Makes one wonder if this might shape up to be the Year Of Food Trucks, Affordable Asian Food, and Mexican Chain Restaurants. I honestly didn't see that last one coming.

there is also a sign on the window if you happened to miss all the other hidden clues. Personally, I think this is a great addition to lincoln road...maybe those nasty food peddlers at those nasty lincoln road restaurants will up their game...maybe this is the start of a big turn-around for lincoln road restaurants...

Rosa Mexicano is awful. and overpriced.

For authentic, great quality Mexican try Alma Mexican on Washington and 12th Street - The food is amazing, generous portions and Alma is a really pretty girl.

This news is really OLD news folks. RMex has been talking publicly about this new SB location for over four months...even job postings have been up that long for certain chef positions. However, RMex is a totally different league than Lime or Baja. That would be like comparing Sizzler to Morton's for steak.

Maybe boy you check your history! 20 years ago lincoln road was a trail with 2 restaurants and 1 of them is still there, Davids. Rosa doesn't suck, maybe your tongue does! Maybe you should keep those comments off the web, seems like the man with smallest penis posts the biggest complaints!
