Pop-Up Fundraiser For Japan Features Food Trucks, Open Bar
| Tokyo in happier times |
The event is the brainchild of Ingrid Adolphs, president of The Event, a Miami-based event production company. While watching coverage of the disasters affecting Japan, she decided to help. Not wanting to waste time, she planned the Japan fundraiser in a week. "I had all of these contacts from my job, so I called them and told them they had to help," Adolphs said. She also noted that everything from the venue to the food has been donated, so 100 percent of the monies collected will go directly to the Red Cross.
Asian-inspired lighting and decorations will include images of Japan on large-screens amd floral arrangements. Entertainment willbe provided by New Century Dance Company and DJ Germain from 93.9 MIA.
Event guests will enjoy an open bar courtesy of Leblon Cachaca, passed hors d'oeuvres by Suzanne Michael Catering and sweet bites from Let Them Eat Cake. Food trucks Ms. Cheezious and Aarons Catering Express will be parked outside, and will donate 10 percent of the evening's sales to the Red Cross.
