Tax Day Deals at Angelique Euro Cafe, BLT Steak, and P.F. Chang's

​Taxes are like fried calamari appetizers: Everyone says they're tired of it, but nobody does anything about it. On the other hand, taxes don't come with marinara sauce and a lemon wedge.  The point I am trying to make is that the following three restaurants are also not doing anything about taxes, but at least they're offering sympathetic deals to soften the blow for us working stiffs.

Angelique Euro Café is running a $10.40 lunch menu through Friday. P.F. Chang's China Bistro is providing a 15 percent discount on Monday, April 18. On the same day, BLT Steak at The Betsy Hotel will be cutting 50 percent off all alcoholic beverages.

Rick Tasman, COO for P.F. Chang's China Bistro, talks of the 15 percent discount as an expression of solidarity with the people: "After the stress of filing taxes, everyone deserves a break and that's exactly what P.F. Chang's is providing with our Tax Relief discount." The discount will be applied automatically to all applicable dine in and take-out orders. Not covered in the deal are alcoholic beverages or Happy Hour food and beverage items.Nor does it apply to "large party take-out or delivery." Remember: This one takes place on Monday.

On the same day, BLT Steak is offering what most would consider a more apt deal -- and the most generous of the three: Half off all cocktails, beers, and wines by the bottle or glass. All day long. Of course the BLT folks are probably hoping you stick around and have a steak dinner -- which really would not be a bad idea.

The $10.40 lunch deal at Angelique Euro Cafe in the Gables is good from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow. Diners can choose from a number of wraps: "Catalana chicken, Parisian, or portobello." The wrap ois served with a side of pommes frites or cup of soup, along with a cookie and soft drink.
