Drag diva Noel Leon to "help" Chef Victor Cardenas Pasos with cooking demo at Bloomingdale's this Saturday.
In conjunction with LGBT Pride month, Bloomingdale's Aventura this Saturday will host Cooking with Pride, a demonstration featuring Victor Cardenas Pasos, executive chef at the Palace in South Beach.

Victor will be sporting a fabulous accessory -- a tall, fully made up, six-inch heel wearing accessory. Noel Leon, the Palace's Sunday Brunch Drag Diva will assist Pasos.

Attendees will be privy to two of the Palace's most popular recipes, get to sample some of the goodies, and receive a copy of the recipes to take home. The best part? This fabulous food fest is all free.

Pasos studied culinary arts in Yucatan, Mexico specializing in Italian cuisine and seafood. Before taking over the Palace's kitchen two years ago, he worked at the Hyatt Resort in Cancun, and Quattro in Miami Beach.

We were curious about Ms. Leon's culinary prowess and had the pleasure of speaking with the drag diva. Follow the jump for our Q&A with Ms. Thang.

New Times: What do you do at the Palace?

Noel Leon: I am one [of] the drag queens that performs at the Palace. If you're driving on Ocean Drive you can't miss me; I am the man in the sequined gown.

Are you excited about assisting Victor for Cooking with Pride?

Of course! What could be better than helping a chef cook something amazing while wearing six-inch heels and a ten pound wig? I can't wait!

Are you a good cook?

No! I am only good at applying my makeup... but I love when someone like Victor cooks for me.

Name three items in your fridge right now.

Nail polish, some batteries, and some two-week-old takeout.

What is your favorite thing to eat at the Palace?

I love everything, but I most enjoy the salads. They are delicious and I can still get my evening gown on afterwards.

How do you keep your girlish figure?

After I eat I put on my drag and run around the tables at the Palace making everybody laugh. I host the Sunday brunch and when I am performing I burn those calories.

What is one food that you just won't eat?

I don't eat beans. What they do to me is not lady-like.
