The Raleigh Hotel's White Bar invites you to Happier Hour
The Raleigh Hotel has announced a new "Happier Hour" at both its Martini Bar and outdoor White Bar.

Every Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m., both bars will get really happy with drink specials, a new food menu, music and other touches that make the Raleigh one of the most beautiful venues in South Beach. DJ Claudio Houze will spin in the Martini Bar, while black-and-white movies will play silently on flowing white drapes.

Marcelo Mezquia, director of restaurants for the Raleigh, said he wants the happier hour at the historic hotel to be the place where friends can meet to relax and have fun. "When you walk into the Raleigh, you're escaping the outside world."

During happier hour, guests can enjoy $8 drinks, wines by the glass and beer, including the Raleigh's specialty cocktails, most named after beautiful women. In fact, each week, the Raleigh will choose a different "cocktail girl" to play hostess. Her cocktail will be reduced to $4. This week you can try the Victoria, made with Hendricks gin, St. Germain, homemade syrup, lemon juice, and extracted cucumber juice.

The special food menu is perfect for warm summer evenings and includes three different ceviches ($9 each), oysters ($10 for a half dozen), and cheese and charcuterie plates (3 for $14). Even valet parking is reduced to $5 (a real deal in South Beach).

I must say that the Raleigh's bars are the best in town. And this is coming from a NY snob.
