|BGR's Strawberry Milkshake.|
To celebrate its one month anniversary, BGR the Burger Joint's
owner Sean Grimberg will give away 50 free milkshakes to the first customers who order a gourmet burger with a side.
You can line up Sunday at 11 a.m. to try the classic vanilla bean, double chocolate, or strawberry, or get more adventurous with this month's peach shake special, blended with real peach pie and topped with graham crackers.
"So far, it's been a lot of repeat business. That's why we're giving away those shakes," Grimberg says. "They make people happy."
Every month, they'll come up with a different shake and burger special recipe. For July, they've got the Red, White, & Blue Burger (topped with tomato, ranch, blue cheese, red onion, and bacon) to tempt patriotic palates. Sides are pretty standard, mainly fries and onion rings, but there's also grilled asparagus for those keeping it light.
BGR, which is an abbreviation for "burger," has opened 11 other locations since 2008. Last month's Miracle Mile opening marked the first Burger Joint in Florida. The place specializes in prime, dry aged beef, which is blended and ground fresh. Grimberg says, "It's like getting a prime rib at Morton's, only we turn it into a burger."
The milkshakes are also "handspun." The process is different than simply blending them; they are thicker and creamier. Grimberg serves them with both a spoon and a straw.
We can't think of a better way to celebrate than with some free liquid candy.
