Crepe Outdoors: Indulge Your Sweet and Savory Sides at BTTR

Categories: Truck Tracker

Crepe Outdoors has an urban/tropical theme.
Crepe Outdoors indulges both your sweet and savory sides with fresh, warm crepes filled with a variety of ingredients.

If the truck or the owners look familiar, you've seen them around before. Crepes Outdoor is the former Wing Commander. Owners Bill and Allison Cosens changed the truck's concept from wings to crepes, mainly to beat the heat.

"Our wings were awesome. They were the best in Miami, hands down," Cosens said, "but when you have two fryers and two grills going, there's no way that even two air conditioners can help."

A crepe concept was actually their first truck idea, and when the Cosens started Wing Commander, friends and family were initially surprised that they went with "wings." Crepe Outdoors brings the couple's food truck business full circle.

The truck has been redesigned, with a colorful graffiti-inspired motif. "We wanted to use every color in the art store, to make the design look urban but tropical," Cosens said.

Each crepe is named after a friend or family member. Allie's Comfort Food ($7) is a savory blend of blue cheese, carmelized onions, and bacon. Quinn's Hunger Quencher ($9), named for the couple's son, is filled with Angus steak, select goat cheese, carmelized onion, sautéed mushrooms, and special sauce. Bill's Big Bite ($6) is a sweet treat with cheesecake filling and a choice of Nutella or berry purée. Lala's Lovely ($5), named for daughter Lauren, blends Nutella and peanut butter in a warm crepe. Many other crepes are available -- all well under $10. Crepe Outdoors will be at BTTR tonight, so stop by and try a crepe.

OMG! What awesome food! I had the Lane Crepe in Margate and I loved it! Cooked perfectly, reasonable price, and great service. I'll be back again for sure!

I'm not sure who you are, or why you're posting unwarranted negative comments on this article.  While we did attend the PTA Fundraiser at Hammocks Middle School, we did not serve the steak crepe to which you are refering because we had sold out at a previous event.   We always guarantee the quality of our food to our REAL customers.  If you have a problem in the future, please feel free to discuss it in person or you can leave your REAL name and phone number and I will contact you myself.   Also, if you're looking for a more budget friendly option, we have several crepes under $7.  I'll be happy to give you a recommendation.

I tried this today at their Hammocks Middle School event, the prices for the crepes are considerably for a crepe, the cheapest being $7 dollars and taking into consideration that the crepes are pretty small the price seems very steep. I tried their cheesecake-nutella crepe which was decent, the flavor was nice but the portion was tiny and it was $7, second I tried their Angus beef crepe with mushrooms and "special sauce", it was honestly the most horrific tasting thing EVER, not to be dramatic and seem like a negative nancy, but seriously it was so disgusting I could not even take more than 2 bites, and it was $9........... ugh...... I was super disappointed because I love crepes, but this was just a horrid experienced for me... Save your money guys and gals....

"Allies Comfort Food" LOL Blatant rip off of another trucks special...I've been following the food trucks for a while and it's so obvious to see when trucks copy others...doesn't matter how many times you change concept or name...result will be the same. PS WHAT happened to Caza Crepes??

How thoughtful if the owners of The Flying Saucer to take the time to comment on this article. We appreciate the feedback.

So sad to see the Wing Commander go. Not sure what these other two bozos are talking about, but they must not have tasted Wing Commander's food. Their food was far superior to the other truck with their store bought sauces.

They're so full of it with that cheaply spray painted trailer. I don't know how anyone can take them seriously. They made sure to tell anyone who would listen how someone had stolen their concept. The truth is The Flying Saucer put them out of business. Why? Because The Flying Saucer's Food was actually good not a Costco special.

Really? To beat the heat? More like they couldn't take the competition

Please..
Please..

Pathetic, at least man up and accept you got beat out of the race!, Your food put you out of business not the heat nor the Flying saucer.

I agree with Big Daddy. I really enjoyed Wing Commander. I haven't tasted the crepes yet, but I'm sure they're great.

Wings....checkWings...checkSliders....checkChili cheese fries...checkSounds like a ripoff to me. The biggest difference I see is the three dumbass bobbleheads on a rocket painted on the side. I miss Wing Commander so much. You guys could never compare, especially with the attitudes you have.
