Will 2011's first Tropical Storm wreck havoc on food truck Fridays?

​Tropical Storm Emily is moving northwest and close to making landfall on Haiti and Dominican Republic. Though the latest projection by the National Hurricane Service has Miami just outside the "cone of death", food truck owners have two concerns: the safety of their trucks in a wind storm and the possible lack of people wanting to brave rain and heavy winds to grab a meal. This is a serious problem for the food truck owners, who have to make a rain-out call long before the actual start time of a roundup. Since Fridays are usually one of the best days for these small-business owners, the potential lack of revenue from even one or two days of inclement weather can be devastating.

Sources tell us that the bi-weekly food truck roundup at Palmetto Bay, scheduled for tomorrow, has been cancelled in anticipation of the storm. As of now, all other food truck roundups will happen as planned. Short Order will update you with any other food truck cancellations or schedule changes as we receive them.
