Let Chef Reidt Pick The Wine Tonight
|The wahoo crudo with trout roe and cucumber-jalapeno broth, a Miami Spice menu starter.|
Each week highlights a different bottle of both red and white with global perspective. Chef Reidt doesn't discriminate -- everywhere from Napa to the Danube's Wachau Valley will be represented. He will be posting his choices on Area 31's Facebook page every Tuesday night, so you can check out his picks in advance. Stellar deals include a 2006 1er Cru Chassagne-Montrachet, which would usually set you back $76 a glass, priced at $19, and the Krupp Brothers 2006 "Black Bart Syrah," reduced from $48 a glass to $14.
The featured wines for tonight are:
Domaine Willian Fevre Chablis 1er Cru Montmains, Burgundy 2008 (usually $28/glass, "Raid The Cellar" price $8/glass)
Faust Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2008 (usually $36/glass, "Raid The Cellar" price $10/glass)
One good deal deserves another, which is why Wednesdays now present the perfect excuse to take advantage of Area 31's Miami Spice offerings. Chef Reidt created plenty of new dishes for the menu, and we chose it as one of the "greats" on our list of "The Good, the Great, and the Grudging."
