Margaritas and Mariachi: Mexico's Independence Means Deals

Here's where to go to shout your own "El Grito" (cry of independence) with specials at local restaurants looking to ply you with tacos and tequila today:
Talavera in Coral Gables has added several authentic Mexican dishes to their menu, which will be available until the end of September. Newbies include the "Huarachito Tres Chiles," corn masa topped with shrimp and salsa, and "Chiles en Nogada," a pepper stuffed with pork tenderloin covered in a creamy walnut sauce and sprinkled with pomegranate seeds (to represent the colors of the Mexican flag, Olé!).
Mercadito in Midtown's additional menu offerings last today through Sunday, including the "Huarache Mexicano," which is chile guajillo corn masa and black bean hash, with cotija cheese and a choice of chicken, beef or pork, and a chile relleno stuffed with ground pork, raisins, almonds, and sweet plantain puree. There's also a new cocktail, the "Nachito," created by the Tippling Bros. for the celebration.
Rosa Mexicano (Brickell and SoBe) has also added the classic stuffed pepper, "Chiles en Nogada" to the menu, as well as a dessert trio - the centerpiece is a roasted beet and Mexican dark chocolate cake covered in a cocoa glaze. Enjoy celebratory cocktails like the "El Vaquero," Rosa's version of "Mexican Lynchburg lemonade."
Last but not least, both Salsa Fiesta locations in Miami and Pembroke Pines are offering two-for-one margaritas and beers all day long. Simple, straight to the heart promotion (we like it!).
