Chef Robyn Almodovar resumes service at Palate Party.

​Last week, Short Order reported that chef Robyn Almodovar, owner of Palate Party, was airlifted to the hospital after being burned in a propane accident on her food truck. Almodovar assured us that although she suffered facial burns, she and her truck would be out on the road soon.

We just received word that both Almodovar and Palate Party will serve dinner tonight at Tropical Park. The Le Cordon Bleu Atlanta graduate wants to continue the momentum and buzz she has generated with her fledgling food-truck business in Miami and is eager to resume cooking.

Palate Party, one of the newest food trucks on the scene, rolled out in late August 2011. The truck specializes in gourmet tacos and sliders. Taco choices include carne asada (hanger steak, salsa verde, roasted corn, cotija cheese, crema, micro cilantro); fish (cornmeal-dusted mahi-mahi, cabbage, fiery fairie crema, pineapple, and mango salsa); sweet potato (sweet potato, roasted corn and black bean salsa, and micro-cilantro); and carnitas (slow-roasted pork, apple slaw, avocado crema, and micro-cilantro).

Sliders are available in meatball, crabcake, breakfast (egg, ham, and cheese), chimi (hangar steak), and pork.
