At recently opened, City Hall, the Restaurant, on the Biscayne Corridor, the Cosmopolitan is known as The Mayor. All the martinis have politically inspired names such as The City Clerk, The Permit, The Key to The City, The Proclamation, The City Manager and The Commissioner.

The Mayor is a sunset-colored beverage was made with Absolut vodka, cranberry juice, a wedge of fresh lime and finished off with a hearty portion of Blood Orange Solerno Liqueur. Yum.

I also sampled the City Manager, a martini that honors fresh Florida orange juice with a generous helping of Svedka Clementine and topped off with a slice of lime. It makes lolling at this bar a very pleasurable experience.

There are nine varieties of martinis on the drink menu and 12 different assortments of beer including O'Doul's (non-alcoholic) beer.

The yummy exotic martinis are usually priced at $11 but go for half that during Happy Hour -- weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m.. They are prepared with Cruzan Mango Rum and fresh mint or passion fruit puree, blackberry liqueur, Patron Reposado Tequila, lychees, coconut rum and some other fun spirits. If you seek something with a bit of a kick, try the spicy and sweet Special Master, made with sorrano pepper with infused Svedka vodka, passion fruit puree and passion fruit juice.

They have a very ample selection of wines as well, starting at $29 for a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, Main Street and Champagnes (Marquis de Latour Rose Sparkling, $29 and Dom Perignon at $275) for those special occasions.

This two-story, 6,000-square-foot eatery features a casual yet chic dining environment with Art Deco accents, a trendy, burgundy and black-hued dining room, an 80-foot long light box mural stretching across one wall and a very friendly bar.
