The Incredible Edible Vegetable Christmas Tree Snacker
You might not care much for eating healthy during the holidays. But once the reality of your midsection hits, you might want to forgo the huge portions of prime rib and Yorkshire pudding submerged in gravy. Try making a Christmas tree edible arrangement, fun to make, fun to look at, and even more fun to eat.
There's really not much too it. What you use for vegetables, or fruit, is completely up to you. Hell, use chunks of ham and venison if you want.
For this tree, whole radishes, chucks of broccoli and cauliflower, baby carrots, sliced cucumbers, black and green olives, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and lettuce were used.
Next, get a box of toothpicks. Then start pinning the lettuce to the cone to provide a bed for the veggies.
After the lettuce is completely covering the cone, pin the veggies to the cone starting at the base and work your way up. Be sure to alternate vegetables and pack them in tight for decor.
Once you completely transform the cone into a veggie tree, sit back and stare it for a bit, marveling over the healthy snack you've just created, take some pictures, show your friends, break out the ranch dressing, or the hummus, and start dipping.
They're good for parties, make great appetizers and they store well in refrigerators too. Merry Christmas veggievores.
