Dunkin' Donuts Casting For Local Commercial Today

Dunkin' wants to make you a star!

​If you're a Dunkin' Donuts superfan put down the coffee cup and head over to the Dunkin' Donuts at 2720 South Dixie Highway in Coconut Grove today until 5 p.m. for a chance to star in their new "What Are You Drinking?" commercial.

The commercial is part of a series of local Dunkin' commercials. A few weeks ago, the donut chain was looking for Spanish-speaking caffeine addicts. This time the casting is for English-speaking coffee lovers.

We spoke with Danny Martinez, casting director for Element Productions, the company charged with finding new caffeine-addicted talent, who told us that the casting for the Spanish-speaking commercials was incredible.

"So many talented people showed up. Those people were stars."

What, exactly, is Martinez looking for during the casting call? No crazy stunts or costumed characters like you sometimes see at American Idol auditions. "We're looking for sincere, everyday people who drink Dunkin' Donuts coffee."

Simple enough. The process takes only a few minutes. On-camera you'll be asked a few questions. (No, Martinez wouldn't give away the questions so you can prep.) Commercial producers will look at all the tapes and if they see a fit, you'll be offered a paying part in a commercial.

While you're at it, check out Dunkin's two heart-shaped donuts for Valentine's Day. Introduced last year, the Cupid's Choice donut is a heart-shaped donut filled with Bavarian kreme and topped with strawberry icing and heart-shaped sprinkles. The Cupid's Cocoa donut, is a jelly-filled chocolate donut, topped with chocolate frosting and chips.
