Miami's BGR Ditches St. Patrick's Day Special Reuben Burger

The latter, for the moment, is awaiting the Thin Mint-y ice cream to make it to town; but if you wanted to try a hamburger covered in Thousand Island dressing, you're sadly out of luck.
I saw no signage about the specials while working my way towards the counter at the Coral Gables eatery. When it was my turn, I asked the cashier -- who it turns out was also the manager -- if there was any reuben burger or Girl Scout Thin Mint shake.
They didn't have the former, she explained, because the owner didn't think it would fly in warm-weather Miami. I was wondering if they also figured there weren't that many Irish people in the area, but she didn't say. (To be fair, when I exited, I couldn't help but notice an especially large contingent spilling out of John Martin's Irish Pub right across the street.)
As for the shake: They do plan to have it starting today, assuming the necessary ice cream flavor finally makes it in.
So much for the "BGR Goes Gaelic" promotion. Seems to me this is something of a diss to Miami's Irish-American population. Hopefully those six fine people won't be too insulted.
On the other hand, maybe we should be thankful. A hamburger garnished with corned beef and sauerkraut might have insulted us all.
