Expensive Crystal, Sexy Wine at Bloomingdale's Aventura
|No. 69 wine - for a sexy time.|
But next Wednesday, March 21, from 7 to 9 p.m., Bloomingdale's Aventura is inviting you to indulge in some very good wine while trying out some pricey crystal from the new Chateau Baccarat line of glasses (which, by the way, start at a precious $70 per glass).
The evening will feature a tasting of JCB wines, a new line of wine by Jean-Charles Boisset, who owns 20 wineries around the world including DeLoach Vineyards, Raymond Vineyards, and Domaine de la Vougeraie. Boisset's new JCB line features a collection of California wines that are numbered rather than named. So, instead of buying a nice bottle of Screaming River Cabernet, you're picking up a bottle of No. 1. There's even a sparkling Rose named No. 69 (insert your own comment here).
The tasting will be led by Anthony Dias Blue. The former Wine & Spirits editor for Bon Appetit magazine (and James Beard award winner) has written nine books on wines and spirits and has a nationally-syndicated radio show about wine. In other words, this guy knows his grape juice.
The tasting is free, but seating is limited. To reserve a spot, call 305-792-1223. And eat something beforehand because at $70 a glass, we don't want you to drop anything (no pressure).
Here's Jean-Charles Boisset talking about why he named his Rose No. 69 (and it's exactly what you think -- complete with jungle calls):
