Latin Burger to Open Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant, Teams Up With Jada Coles

Jim Heins is opening a Latin Burger restaurant.

​Jim Heins, owner of Latin Burger and Taco, is always on the lookout for the next opportunity. Heins' Latin Burger was one of the first food trucks on the Miami scene, and he was one of the first truck owners to expand his business into a second truck.

Heins has now announced that he will take his Latin Burger concept under a roof with two new endeavors.

Starting today, Latin Burger will operate a mini-restaurant inside Jada Coles in Coral Gables. The bar, which is known for its laid-back atmosphere and live music on weekends, will now serve the entire Latin Burger truck menu daily from 5 to 10 p.m. Menu items include the Latin Macho burger ($8), tacos in chicken tomatillo, pulled pork, or chicken mole ($5), portabello mushroom burger ($7), and fries.

When asked why Heins decided to team up with the neighborhood bar/music venue, he said that he was looking for a location close to Miracle Mile to open up a Latin Burger. "It seems like a good fit," he told Short Order.

Jada Coles will also serve as a proving ground for Heins' next project -- a full-on brick-and-mortar Latin Burger & Taco restaurant. Though Heins wouldn't disclose where the location was, he said that the ink was already on the deal and that the site was under construction. Heins also said that he would continue to operate the Latin Burger food truck on a regular basis.

Latin Burger joins The MexZican Gourmet, The Yellow Submarine, and Latin House Grill as more food trucks expand into traditional restaurants.
