Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Don't skip it -- eat here.
Breakfast has long been regarded the most important meal of the day, but we still tend to discount its importance (except maybe at Sunday brunch). But breakfast, unlike dinner, is a great time to meet friends or business associates for a meal that has less formality. Unlike dinner at a dimly lit restaurant with wine, breakfast places are bright, friendly, and welcoming -- and usually come with endless pots of steaming hot coffee. Besides, who doesn't like a meal with a side of bacon?

With that in mind, we found it difficult to pare down our list of favorite breakfast spots to ten. We'd like to hear your favorite place for first meal.

10. Coral Bagels
The decibel level is high at any given day of the week at this little breakfast joint off US1. Filled with the same regulars from Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, Coral Bagels is the place to meet friends, gossip about local politics, and have a simple plate of eggs and a freshly made bagel without breaking the bank. Two eggs with the best breakfast potatoes we've ever had, comes with a bagel of your choice and unlimited coffee with plenty of cream. If you can stand the sound of crashing dishes, eat here.

9. Buena Vista Deli
We love a simple breakfast of well baked breads and good coffee and Buena Vista Deli delivers just that. The fresh baked flaky, buttery croissants come fresh out of the oven reminding one of Paris ... or heaven. Paired with fresh fruit and coffee, it's called the 7 a.m. breakfast and it's $4.95. We call it the perfect start to a very good morning.

Your list is trash, maybe i guess these are places that are currently advertising so i guess you have to give them a mention since their ads are not producing squat, I bet that none of these places are as popular as say La Carreta on 107th, all you can eat breakfast buffet starting at just $7.50, or lets not for get the Famous Versailles on 8th street been there now for the past 30 plus years and counting and lets also add Original Pancake House, those are the real top 3, all the others are just mediocre places that no one really knows or cares about except for New Times.

Lots of awesome places left out, and to throw news cafe and green st at the top of the list...tourist!

Alright, I can appreciate some of the ones mentioned here but, Deli Lane, Jimmy's and Bagel Emporium did not make it? And where is the mention of a Cuban dive type breakfast/place (and you can get a loaded breakfast for dirt cheap!). Perhaps we can get a do over...top 15, maybe? ;o)

What about all the amazing Cuban restaurants that have cheap, huge, delicious "Cuban" breakfast specials. Some great places on this list but it doesn't seem authentically Miami.

What a joke!  Your list is garbage.  The News Cafe is a shithole.  The food there is inedible.  Get a clue!!!

Need a list of where to get a good bagel around Miami. Coral Bagels is a start and don't say Bagel Emporium.

If Bagel Cove makes the list, author is smoking something other than just weed. In our 3 visits there, we got sour milk, bacon cooked at least an hour before, and eggs that were as over-cooked as they come.

What about ice box, bagel emporium (much better than coral bagels), donut gallery, Jimmy's diner....

Pretty good list, I am sad that there aren’t that manyWest of Downtown as well. I would mention Bagel Emporium, Le Bouchon and DeliLane

Would've been nice if the list included some cool spots west of downtown, you know, where a majority of Miami lives.

Not a bad list.   Missing Jimmy's Diner in the Upper Eastside and Bagel Bar East.

I know high-end brunch's don't count, but Michael's Genuine beats any of these guys.

Versailles didn't make it? I guess this report is truly missing something, some of these places never heard of!!! But Versailles is a legend for breakfast

@NeedBagels  Try The Bagel Bar they make their own NE 123rd St, try Moe's my favorite Bagel place, and then theirs Bagel Cove a few blocks north of Moe's just off of Biscayne Blvd. Unfortunately none of them are in the SW.

How about using your real name and picture instead of hiding behind the name of our food critic?
