Dadeland Cinco de Mayo Block Party at World of Beer and Lime Fresh Grill

Pretend you're in Mexico for one day.

When Zaragoza crushed the French Army near Puebla, Mexico on May 5, 1862, he intended to commemorate the victory by celebrating with tortillas, guacamole, beer and block parties. Yes, block parties, kind of like the one World of Beer in Dadeland is hosting in two weeks.

Authorities will close off the section of SW 72 Place between WOB and Lime Fresh Mexican Grill Dadeland, which will be selling food and margaritas from the side of the street. WOB opens at 12 noon, but the block party festivities start at 3 p.m.

Bring your sombreros because there will be beer trucks, chicks with beer, chips and guacamole, and undoubtedly someone running around calling themselves "Dirty Sanchez."

Dos Equis is sponsoring the event and there will be lots of decorations with their logo on it, plus chicks selling beer. There will be giveaways galore: Sol sunglasses, Tecate koozies, WOB gift cards, keychains, limited edition Dos Equis and Cinco de Mayo T-shirts.

A DJ will be performing from 3 to 9 p.m. Then a live band will begin performing inside World of Beer. Dos Equis, Sol and Tecate bottles will be sold for $4, drafts for $5. The beer inside WOB is regular price.

Don't be afraid to drive to the event because World of Beer validates parking. Don't park in the Brandsmart parking lot, There is a dude around the corner waiting to tow your car.

This will be the first block party ever for Dadeland. "It's going to be one heck of a block party," said Eileen Lange, a manager at World of Beer.

The block party is going to resemble a little Mexican town.If in
doubt, come to the party dressed in your Three Amigos costume, why not?
