The intimate course will walk you through the ins and outs of making macarons, fruit tarts, and chocolate tarts.
The class ends with a tasting (that should be your biggest incentive to sign up).
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make French pastries? We've heard they're some of the most difficult things to learn and master but once you do, it's sweet sailings from there.
Last month, the Alliance held a similar workshop specifically on Macarons with Garcia. It was successful, but this time around they decided to up the ante and invite Baduel.
With the addition of Baduel and strawberry and chocolate tart tutorials, this month's pastry workshop will surely be an even bigger hit.
"We chose Thomas Baduel because he is a very prestigious French chef, and for this Saturday they decided to do the popular strawberry tart and chocolate tart," said Doris Perez, of the Alliance.
"Each session ends with a tasting, and they can take a box of macarons home, or whatever they prepared during the class," she told us.
Lucky for our multi-lingual citizens of Miami, the class will be held in English, and the chefs speak Spanish as well as French.
Alliance Francaise members have a discounted price of $65 for the 11a.m. pastry workshop this Saturday. Non-members pay $80. The class is limited to just ten people, so register fast. You can call 305-859-8760 to register, or do it in person.
If you can't make this month's class, the Alliance is holding a June workshop called "Les Petits Gourmets" for a parent/child pastry class.
