If the skies rain on your happy-hour parade, get free shots of Malibu Passion Fruit Rum, orange and lime juice, simple syrup and Blue Curacao.
Bella Beach, a chic Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and lounge located at Trump International Beach Resort has come up with a mouth-watering idea: free "Hurricane Bella" shots, made with a blend of Malibu Passion Fruit Rum, orange and lime juice, simple syrup and Blue Curacao. For the next few months, if you're anywhere near Sunny Isles Beach on a Friday afternoon when the drops start falling., park the car and head for the bar.

Enjoy their cocktails and special tapas every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. If it rains, the bartender will pour one complimentary round of Hurricane Bella shots for you and all other guests while the music at the lounge erupts into an exclusive DJ mix of Rihanna's hit song, "Umbrella" -- with the chorus singing "um-Bella, bella, bella, eh, eh, eh." Barflys will enjoy $6 Hurricane Bella cocktails until the skies clear, in addition to the regular two-for-one specials.

Tommy Pooch, partner at the lounge said, "It's the only place in town where clients want it to rain on Friday afternoons. We've got a DJ under the awning, which looks like a giant wave and the DJ's got his feet in the dunes while playing music. We've also got loads of bartenders waiting to mix and serve. I'm there during the week and Alan Roth is there on weekends. We're both looking to mingle and get to know everyone."

Guests can nibble on Tuscan crostini, heirloom tomatoes with fresh basil, a drizzle of e-v-o-o bruschetta ($5), yellow fin, lemon vinaigrette, tuna crostini topped with a sprinkle of micro sprouts ($9), mini Wagyu burgers with spicy arugula, tomato, pickled onion, cabozola blue, cheddar or Swiss cheese ($6 each), or chick pea hummus with sesame tahini, and a dash of smoked paprika on a grilled pita. Besides the happy hour specials, Bella offers a rich assortment of yummy bites such as salmon caviar, spice-poached jumbo shrimp and fine spirits including an extensive champagne and wine selection.

Last week, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration advised the nation, that we are likely to have a "normal" hurricane season with "nine to fifteen tropical storms and approximately four to eight storms that might become major hurricanes during the next six months." Well that thought alone drives me to drink.. With all of that said, you know the drill, don't drink and drive, otherwise you too can become a sad statistic.
