Cibo Wine Bar To Open at Continuum in SoFi

Cibo Wine Bar is coming to SoFi.
The Comras Company has just inked a deal which will bring Cibo Wine Bar to South Beach.

The completed lease calls for the restaurant to occupy 11,963 square feet of space in a newly constructed freestanding building situated at the entrance of the luxury Continuum condominiums in SoFi.  Back in May, a penthouse at the Continuum was sold for $25 million -- making it the most expensive Miami condo.

Cibo Wine Bar, scheduled to open fall of 2013, is the third venue created by Liberty Entertainment Group. The Toronto-based corporation owns the first Cibo Wine Bar, as well as the Coral Gables Athletic Club/Liberty Cafe, and Coral Gables Country Club. The company also owns 11 establishments in Toronto.

Nick Donato, President & CEO of Liberty Entertainment Group says he's looking forward to Cibo's expansion into South Beach. "SoFi is the restaurant mecca in Miami and one of the fastest growing culinary destinations in the city."

Cibo Wine Bar in Coral Gables just won a Miami New Times award for "Best Wine Selection" and was named "Best Restaurant in Coral Gables" in our readers choice polls.

In addition, chef Massimo Ciannattasio was named "Best Chef in Miami" by Miami New Times readers.

Yeah. Didn't the New Times Readers Poll earlier this year confirm that the Mecca of Miami is Coconut Grove! (Believe it, or not). Donato is Canadian and doesn't know squat. Besides, the food at Cibo is pretty darn weak.

"SoFi is the restaurant mecca in Miami" Really? There are some pretty good restaurants (Joe's, 112, The Dining Room,...) but the mecca? Am i missing something big?
