The folks at the Federal Food, Drink & Provisions intend to take full advantage of our geographical hot spot. Sundays this summer, the Federal Q promises barbecue, beer, and good company.
Chef Cesar Zapata is counting on the skills he picked up long ago in Houston to bring Miami some fine 'cue.
The Federal Q menu will consist of a rotating selection of smoked pork, beef, or chicken sold by the pound, along with an assortment of sides that span the regional United States. Zapata will dabble in various styles of barbecue, ranging from smoky Texas brisket to sweet Kansas City-style pork ribs.
Fifteen-dollar buckets o' beer and buckets o' punch will wash down all the grilled, meaty goodness.
In addition to the killer 'cue, the Fed's regular dinner menu will step into the new season with new items such as A Big Ole Smoked Pork Shank ($26), with black-eyed peas and a heady mustard vinaigrette. Also to be expected: a daily catch ($22) served with Louisiana-inspired succotash with black beluga lentils, and a New England lobster roll ($17) with butter-poached Maine lobster, orange-scented aioli, and chives served on a lobster-buttered brioche bun and sided by hand-cut fries.
