Miami's Best Summer Cocktails and How to Make 'Em at Home

What is it about summer that so begets boozing? The sizzling temps, the skimpy clothes, the longer days, and sweltering nights -- all just goad you to get a good buzz going.

So in the interest of summer imbibing, Short Order spoke to mixologists at some of Miami's most creative bars for a few refreshing recipes you can create at home.

Juvia

Juvia is Miami's hottest new resident. Perched atop nine stories on iconic Lincoln Road, this sexy Asian-fusion resto offers creative concoctions, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a jaw-dropping view. This refreshing gin cocktail is a crisp twist on the usual fruity summer fare.

Cucumber Cooler
Ingredients:
2 cucumber slices
1.5 oz Plymouth gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz agave syrup
tonic water

Fill a rocks glass with ice and place the cucumber slices over the ice. In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, lemon, and agave with ice. Shake well and strain over cucumber slices into the glass. Top with tonic.

Known for its intoxicating elixirs and swank setting, this all-white poolside lounge is the perfect place to spend a summer evening under the stars. A vodka cocktail with fruity accents is light and just sweet enough.

3/4 oz. lemongrass syrup
4 fresh blackberries
3/4 oz. lemon juice
4 mints leaves
1/2 oz. apple cider
