Top Ten Favorite Dishes: Cast Your Vote

Peacock Cafe Grilled Artichoke 2.jpg
It all started with an artichoke.
For the past few months, Short Order has been choosing our absolute favorite dishes to eat in the 305 in anticipation of our annual Best Of issue on June 14.

It all started with a grilled artichoke from Peacock Garden Cafe (number 100).

From there on we worked our way through everything from frozen hot chocolate spiked with vodka at Serendipity 3 (number 94) to tender octopus with potato foam at Barceloneta (number 22).

We've had fun eating our way through Miami's best dishes, be they at a restaurant filled with celebrities, as in the case of the peanut butter Snickers pie at Prime One Twelve (number 25), or at the Ms. Cheezious food truck for their bacon and blue (number 60).

But now, it's time to get serious...

Starting next week, we'll count down the top ten dishes in Miami. We've already made our choices. We won't disclose the winning plates yet, but the restaurants include such standard bearers as Michael's Genuine Food & Drink and Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill, as well as interesting eateries like SoBe's Tap Tap.

But enough about us. We want your choices. Of the top ten restaurants we've selected from all the dining options in Miami, which one do you think has the best dish? We've put together a poll, listing the restaurants that serve our favorite dishes. Voting starts now and will remain open until June 13 at 11:59 p.m. We'll reveal your choice on June 14, along with the restaurant (and dish) that made our number one spot.

Had brunch yesterday at Tudor House. Service sucked. The waiter didn't know the omelet of the day for god's sake. Took 15 mins to get our drinks and offered the dessert cart before we had our appetizers served. Service aside, we had the most incredible cocktails and meal while the lovely three piece band entertained us. Best kept dining secret in South Beach IMHO.

Tudor House? Really? Place is going to shit (not that it was far above it when it started). It's got a famous tv face behind a South Beach menu... get over yourselves, TH. Zakarian is best known for two things: glasses, and closing restaurants.

Villa by Barton g snapper/shrimp ceviche made the list- (props!) but we had it at the beginning of a tasting meal and it is on a level all it's own. Should be at the top!!!

Tudor House got my vote. I'm salivating for their Manhattan right now.

That top 10 list sounds very much like people only voting for trendy spots. The only one I actually agree with is Michael's. That damn cremoso at Michael's. Otherwise my picks would have to be lamb chops at Buena Vista Bistro, Wagyu burger at Ice box, “Banh Mi” Buns at Sakaya Kitchen (also those brussel sprouts), Pad Thai from Ricky Thai, Fully loaded salami sub from Mr. M's, Cheese biscuits from The Federal, Kawahagi & Nira Moyashi from Hiro Yakkosan, and Bottarga alla spaghetti from Salumeria. Of course just our opinion :) Give 'em a try!

Can these seriously be considered restauraunts that have the best dishes in Miami?? I'm not saying that "some" of these restauraunts are good-but there has toBe better restauraunts with better dishes. This isn't really saying much about the so fl dining scene.

They received 3 1/2 stars by both papers, stellar review by Lee Klein and the community has embraced them as a local restaurant. What's your beef sassy?

Wow Henry - by your post history - you must really...REALLY!  not like Pubbelly!  My advice is to vote for some other restaurant....that's where the power of the vote kicks in!
