Local 10 reports Jonathan Eismann was involved in a fatal hit-and-run.
Local 10 is reporting that former restaurateur-turned-realtor Jonathan Eismann has been involved in a fatal hit and run accident in Miami.

The accident occurred around 8:47 a.m. Wednesday, on the corner of NW Third Street and 72nd Avenue.

Eismann was driving a Ford Explorer and was involved in a crash with a Nissan Sentra.

While driving from the scene of the crash, Eismann lost control of his vehicle and hit pedestrian Juan Carlos Ruiz two blocks away. Ruiz was pronounced dead on the scene by authorities. The owner of the Nissan was unharmed.

Police say charges against Eismann are pending. Short Order will bring you more information as we receive it.

At one time, Eismann was cultivating a small Miami restaurant empire, his name involved with as many as five restaurants (Spartico, Pizza Volante, Fin, Q, and Pacific Time). Most recently, the CIA graduate has been with The Chariff Realty Group as a sales associate.

Someone's life was taken away involuntary over a simple accident that could of been avoided. A wonderful father, great husband and beautiful friend. He will be remembered and made known to the world how justice needs to be made over this tragedy.

John has always been a stand up guy Period There are no winners in a tragedy like this And of course no charges ...this looks like a very tragic accident ... Jonathan is a person, husband and father ...not a media story

So he flees the seen after a serious accident. Drives like a mad man, looses control and kills someone because of it. A DUI or whatever the reason he left is looking like grade school compared to man saluter. A families life is now ruined forever because this action. It's a sad day for everyone involved. Multiple families are ruined forever because of poor decision and thinking that you may be above the law.

Must've been drunk or high. Why leave the scene?  Apparently a better cook than driver.

Perhaps he can start a locavore or farm-to-table trend in the prison cafeteria.

Incredible, this irresponsible jack wagon hits a car, then drives in an attempt to get away and kills a pedestrian.

@Miamidoc2121 So was the victim... he too was a person. Too many times people with a little bit of money and clout are allowed to destroy innocent people's lives, and expect a "do-over". I'm sure the family of the victim can't even afford to eat at one of this "stand up guy's" many restaurants... what makes John more of a person than anyone else.

The saddest part about this is that John will probably get probation, have his license suspended for a few months, pay some fines, and be back to his life in a couple of months. So unfortunately, unless this is made into a "media story", it'll be forgotten in the next few weeks and John will walk away with a slap on the wrist. Look how long it's taken to bring Carlos Bertonatti to justice, and he dragged his victim's bike under his car with cops chasing him. Money buys you immunity in this town, people like you love to play ignorant and act as if it's a level playing field. It isn't, stop pretending..
