I just got engaged and my new fiancee and I are not just in love with each other, but in love with food! We are always reading about new and delicious places on Short Order, but can never try them due to the financial strains that come with being a young couple trying to kick off our careers. We will not be able to get much of a chance soon because we will be paying for our wedding out of pocket and everyone knows, Hispanic families are anything but small. We'd love to be able to attend Iron Fork and have a chance to lift up our own forks in celebration of delicious food and our future!

I could tell you the about the financial strains that taking care of a sick person put on us, or the job hardships or I can tell you that I don't just love food; I eat, sleep and breath food! I travel, record, photograph, discuss, and devour food from all over the globe. Over the past year my life has been a topsy-turvy but the greatest comfort in the world after family was and is food.

I would love to win these tickets so that my husband and I can attend this event. My husband is a chef and a huge foodie! He works so hard and we never get to attend the local food events in Miami. For the last year and a half he has been the chef and owner of a food truck in Miami. He has been working day and night working on the truck, never taking a day off and some weeks putting in over 100 hours of work. Financially he has had to take a full time job back at a restaurant to support our family and our two kids. My daughter is 1 year old and was born with a heart condition that has left us in major debt with medical bills. So he is back to work full time. The one good thing is that in this job he gets 2 days off a week! But unfortunately we don't have the extra cash to spend on a night out for ourselves. I would love to get a date night out to go to the Iron Fork!

Well in an effort to avoid the usual pratfall of going broke after paying for our (wonderful yet still pricey for 20-somethings) wedding. My wife and I have foregone going out to eat (our favorite end of the week decompression activity) in order to get ourselves debt free. I think having a chance to go out and enjoy some of the finest food in the city, would be a great surprise for her.

I would love to take my mother to this event. She has taught me the basics of hw to cook food and at the same time made me appreciate my Peruvian background. Since growing up in the states, I could have easily fallen into liking other ethnic foods but I did not, my mother fought and sweated to cook exceptional food. Now, I cook for her when she's hungry with passion and a smile. I would love to reward her with some tickets to this great event. Thanks.
