| FIU's North campus was host to "Biscayne Brewers Bash," which displayed 40 different microbrews from Florida brewers. |
This past Sunday, members of
B.R.E.W. FIU hosted their first annual
Biscayne Brewers Bash in the pavilion of the Kovens Conference Center overlooking beautiful Biscayne Bay. The event hosted 15 local brewers serving over 40 different micro-brews. There was also a booth for beer bread and beer butter. The main idea was to bring together Florida brewers and focus on Florida beer.
"A lot of Florida homebrewers only know about each other through Facebook, so our aim was to bring them together and to pull the community together through this event," said Matthew Weintraub, a homebrew-workshop teaching assistant and one of the founders of B.R.E.W. FIU.
