SLS Hotel South Beach Opening Party: Mojito Push Pops, Iberico Ham, and Gin and Tonic Oysters

Monkeys scale the walls of the SLS.

We saw some amazing things at last night's grand opening party at SLS Hotel South Beach. The hotel, which opened this past June, threw a bash hosted by its artistic dream team. Philippe Starck (who designed the rooms and common areas), Lenny Kravitz (rock star turned designer), and Jose Andres (executive chef of The Bazaar) were all on hand to mingle with guests.

The fantasy gala featured bartenders in Mexican wrestling masks, frolicking wood nymphs, geishas, and virtual monkeys scaling the property walls. Guests went with it, clearly enjoying the free-flowing champagne, Iberico ham, an ocean's worth of sushi, and other upscale treats before being serenaded by Rumer Willis and the band Capital Cities.

Iberico ham served off the leg.
