SambaPop: SushiSamba Pops Up In Midtown for Art Basel

SambaPop starts its six-day midtown run tonight, practically in the arms of sister restaurant Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill at the former Sustain location (3252 NE First Avenue).
SambaPop opens tonight, December 4, for dinner and will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight for lunch and dinner from Wednesday, December 5 through Sunday, December 9. Reservations will not be taken at the pop-up.
Executive chef Brian Nasajon has taken the best of the South Beach restaurant and created an abbreviated menu filled with quick and sexy edibles like rock shrimp tempura ($17), chicken or salmon teriyaki bento boxes ($19), a Kobe burger ($16), edamama ($5), and samba rolls ($12-$15).
A selection of pastry chef Jill Montinola's desserts are offered, including mochi, warm chocolate banana cake, and catupiry cheesecake (all $10 each).
SambaPop is also serving SushiSamba's classic mojitos and caipirinhas, as well as pisco sours, a chu-cumber, and the Nina Fresca, with Svedka vodka, muddled strawberries, orange liqueur, lime, and guava (all $12 each). Beer, wine, and sake are also available.
