Miami's Best Eats and Drinks This Weekend

Categories: Weekend Guide

Since we can't all be in New Orleans this weekend cheering on our favorite teams (by the way, are you a Ravens or a 49ers fan?) the party is just going to have to come to us.

And, sure, we're under a lot of national humiliation right now with Dan Marino's affair and love child gone public and all ("love child" is a really nice way of putting it...) but we can take it!

We've got a slew of things to eat and drink for the big game, and an event or two to catch.

But most importantly, a word of Super Bowl Party wisdom: Shake all the beer cans when no one's looking, teehee!

Burgie Awards
The fourth annual Burgie Awards are this Saturday, February 2, starting at 5 p.m.. Organized by none other than the meat patty man himself, Burger Beast. Over 25 of South Florida's best food trucks will be present to receive awards, congratulate their comrades, and feed the good people who attend. One of the best things about the Burgie Awards, besides the fact that it's food-centric, is that admission is free. That leaves your wallet untouched and available for food and craft beer overdrive. This year, the event will take place at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale -- this is the first time the event is held in Broward County. Participating Dade County food trucks include crowd favorites like, Ms. Cheezious, Jefe's Original Fish Tacos, Dim Ssam a Gogo, Palate Party, and plenty others. Restaurants are even joining in on the fun: Blue Collar, Azucar Ice Cream, and Pincho Factory are just a few.
