Sweet Saloon: Get Chocolate Wasted With Cocktails and Dessert Treats

Sugar and booze are an intoxicating combo (some studies say it gets you drunkety drunker). If so, then Sweet Saloon should leave us all kinds of buzzed.

The newest addition to the mezzanine level of Moonchine Asian Bistro, this spot serves sweet treats, cocktails, and jazzy beats Wednesday and Saturday nights. Just the kind of after-dinner entertainment we're into.

Their anytime sweet & salty menu features the likes of pineapple, banana and marshmallow fruit reduction flambé with spice rum ($7), semi sweet chocolate fondue to share ($25), a key lime shake with key lime and coconut milk ($7), vegetarian spring rolls with cabbot, carrot, celery and mushroom with sweet & sour sauce ($6), fried baby bok choy ($7) and other Asian-inspired snacks and after-dinner sweets.

And we can't forget the cocktails. We're tantalized by the Tanteo jalapeno margarita, $12, a concoction of Tanteo jalapeno tequila, lime and agave juices; the dark chocolate martini, $12, Stoli vanilla vodka, Godiva chocolate liqueur and Cointreau; or the Pink Martini, $12, Tanteo jalapeno tequila, coconut milk and filthy black cherry. They also offer bottle service, everything from cognac to champagne - and some reasonably prices wines, too.

Most intriguing of all, they offer infusion jars of Stoli with fresh vanilla bean, fresh lemongrass or fresh ginger, $6 -- and party cocktails known as typhoons that serve six people or more, $71.

The joint will also offer entertainment. Wednesdays mean Loulou's Party, with complimentary cocktails for ladies all night and DJ's spinning. And on the weekend, there's Funkylicious Saturdays, where Funky Junction will spin old school, new school, nu-disco-funk-deep and tech house "with a twist of soul."

Sweet Saloon is located on the mezzanine level of 7100 Biscayne Blvd, and they're open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dessert lovers can follow the new spot on Facebook, Twitter and their website..
