Top Chef Season 11 Miami Open Call: Michelle Bernstein Gives Us Advice
|Michelle Bernstein gives Top Chef tips.|
The competition, which also attracts some of the best culinary talent as judges and mentors, is undeniably a tool that a young chef can use to get funding for a new endeavor or find a dream job in one of the world's finest kitchens.
The show has been given the "green light" for season 11 and they need contestants. An open call has been announced in several cities like Austin, Brooklyn, Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami!
The Miami open call will be held on Monday, February 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at Michelle Bernstein's Michy's restaurant. There's no surprise there, since Bernstein has been a frequent mentor and judge on the show.
Since Bernstein is extremely familiar with the show and its judges, we asked her for some tips and advice on what they're looking for in a cheftestant:
1. Be yourself but no holds barred.
2. Have fun, show your true personality.
3. Be as honest as you can with yourself and your food.
Coincidentally, the Miami open call takes place one day after the South Beach Wine & Food Festival wraps up, meaning that many celebs and Top Chef alumni will be in Miami. We're not sure that means any will show up at the audition (and chef Bernstein, herself, did not confirm whether or not she would be there), but our advice would be to be on your "A" game -- just in case.
; If you can't make it to the Miami casting, the show is accepting applications and videos through March 1, 2013.
