Get Sprung! this weekend.
Even as we're kvetching about this frigid weather (if you consider 65 degrees freezing, that is), thousands of young men and women are packing up their swimsuits to indulge in the annual rite known as spring break.

Sure, there are some college kids who head for Cancun and Europe to celebrate the end of another college term, but ever since Frankie and Annette frolicked on the sands of Fort Lauderdale, South Florida has been spring-break central.

Which is why we're so psyched about Sprung!, the new spring beer celebration coming to Coconut Grove's Peacock Park this Saturday, March 9. Brought to you by the same people who give you Grovetoberfest in the fall, Sprung! will feature samples of more than 150 beers -- many of them seasonal brews not available during the fall beer festival.

In addition to beer sampling, indulge your inner spring breaker with some awesome games such as giant Jenga, cornhole, mega Twister, beer pong, and (OMG) human bowling! Here's a photo of the awesomeness of human bowling:

Human bowling! Awesome, isn't it?
In addition to the human bowling (and, really, could you ask for more?) there will be interactive beer demos, live music, and an Orange Pride bar where you can watch the UM vs. Clemson basketball game on four TV screens.

Tickets to Sprung! are available online. General-admission tickets cost $39 and allow unlimited beer sampling and entry from 4 to 7 p.m. VIP tickets cost $89 and allow early access to the fest at 2:30 p.m. In addition, VIPs will get a meet-and-greet with the brewers at 2:30 p.m. plus early tastings, access to the VIP lounge with specialty beers, complimentary appetizers, and the use of air-conditioned bathrooms.

Short Order has two pair of general-admission tickets to give away to our readers. Just "like" us on Facebook and post your most insane spring-break memory. We want to know about the time you wrecked Dad's car, vomited on your crush's shoes, and spent the weekend in a Mexican jail. The crazier the better.

We'll choose the two wildest stories, with each person winning a pair of tickets to Sprung! by 5 p.m. today, March 6. Tickets will be emailed to you.

We're looking forward to your stories -- and to making more of them this Saturday at Sprung!

Spring Break 2007 brought us to the beach side town of Dorado in Puerto Rico. We rented a house there and enjoyed boozing and partying the first few nights. After coming back on the fourth night from drinking at Bacardi and viejo San Juan I passed out about 2 am only to be awoken an hour later by a blood curdling shriek. We ran down to the beach and discovered our land lords had killed a chicken and were spilling its blood all over the sand. Turns out they were santeros and there was some ritual initiation going on right behind where we were staying. There were more weird instances that happened for the rest of the week, but this made us seriously think twice about everything we did and said in the house. None of us college kids wanted to leave with any brujeria curses.....

I'll let other people have a chance first...

Well I've got a few: santeria on the beach in Puerto Rico or encountering toothless "escorts" in the Bahamas.

Nick -- if no one claims and you have yet another story....who know? Make it a good one...It's kind of hard to believe everyone in Miami is such an angel...

We got pulled over by a cop in Costa Rica (during spring break 2008) going 70 km over the speed limit through a school zone. My friend, who was driving, spoke no Spanish and almost got us all arrested by insulting the cop's intelligence and radar device. Luckily I intervened and calmed the situation a bit. The cop told us that he could let us go if we "settled this like men," which obviously meant a bribe. I told him we were broke college students and asked how much. His reply translated roughly as: " look within your hearts and give me what I merit." I gave him a US $20 and we shook hands, discussed empanada fillings and he let us go....
